Planning the Classic White Wedding

Planning a wedding is never an easy endeavor. It can be stressful, filled with sometimes conflicting choices that reflect the couple's uniqueness. For Jamie and Ellie, the focus was clear from the start: they wanted a classic white wedding infused with the spirit of Herbivore Elegance. This theme not only aligned with their values but also captured the essence of their love story. White symbolizes purity and fun and throughout the ages, couples in many cultures have seen it as the go-to colour theme for a wedding.

The journey began with a vision board, rendered by Emma Schreenan, Herbivore's well known Creative Director.  Emma assisted Jamie and Ellie collect ideas that resonated with their personalities, ensuring that every detail of their wedding day was imbued with significance.

With a theme established, Jamie and Ellie dove into the logistics of planning. They created a timeline that allowed them to enjoy the process rather than feel overwhelmed. This strategy helped them to stay organized, tackling one aspect at a time. Jamie and Ellie both had a positive experience with Herbivore. Once the venue Michelton Estate and Winery was chosen, Emma and the team made sure planning and logistics started right away (The Herbivore Team love a road-trip!)

Choosing the Perfect Venue

Selecting the right venue is one of the most crucial decisions in the wedding planning process, and Jamie and Ellie were no exception.

Their desire to have the Australian bush as a backdrop lead them to Michelton Estate Winery, where nature's beauty served as the perfect backdrop for their Herbivore Elegance theme. The lush greenery and blooming flowers provided a vibrant contrast to their white decor, creating an atmosphere that was both serene and romantic.

Elegant Decor and Floral Arrangements

With the venue locked in, the next step was to breathe life into their vision through decor and floral arrangements. Jamie and Ellie wanted to create an atmosphere that exuded elegance while remaining grounded in the beauty of nature. Their choice of decor was centered around a monochromatic palette of whites and creams, accented with lush greenery to maintain that connection to the earth.

They collaborated with a talented floral designer who shared their passion for creating breathtaking arrangements. The couple envisioned centerpieces that featured an abundance of white roses, peonies, and delicate greenery, set against shimmering gold tableware. The aim was to create a cohesive look that was sophisticated yet inviting, making guests feel embraced by the beauty surrounding them.

In addition to the centerpieces, Jamie and Ellie incorporated floral installations throughout the venue. From elegant garlands draped over tables to a stunning floral arch at the ceremony site, every element contributed to the overall ambiance. The sweet fragrance of the blooms wafted through the air, enveloping everyone in a sensory experience that paired perfectly with the joy of the occasion.

The Bridal Party and Groomsmen

Jamie and Ellie’s wedding at Mitchelton Winery Estate near Nagambie was the definition of a classic Aussie celebration—laid-back, full of love, and set against the stunning backdrop of vineyards and rolling countryside.

When it came to their bridal party, Jamie and Ellie chose their closest friends and family to stand by their side, making sure every person truly reflected their journey as a couple. These were the people who had been there through thick and thin, and having them as part of the day made it all the more special.

The bridesmaids wore effortlessly elegant white dresses, each with its own unique touch to let their personalities shine. Delicate floral crowns added a soft, romantic feel, perfectly complementing the relaxed yet refined vibe of the day. Meanwhile, the groomsmen kept it classic in black suits with crisp white shirts and sharp ties—timeless and sophisticated, but still true to their individual styles.

Jamie and Ellie wanted their bridal party to feel amazing and at ease, knowing they’d be in the spotlight just as much as the newlyweds. And they did—bringing warmth, laughter, and a sense of togetherness that made the whole celebration feel even more magical.

How wedding Florists do it - on the day

Wedding mornings start early for florists, and Jamie and Ellie’s big day was no exception. Before the sun was fully up, we were already at the studio, carefully packing each arrangement to ensure every flower arrived in perfect condition. Bouquets were misted, centerpieces were secured, and delicate blooms were wrapped to withstand transport.

Once on-site, the setup moved with precision and efficiency. First, we focused on key installations—like the ceremony backdrop, where lush white florals and soft greenery framed the couple’s vows. Meanwhile, the reception tables were meticulously styled, with each centerpiece placed to balance elegance and function.

Adjustments were made as we went—fluffing petals, perfecting placements, and ensuring every detail aligned with the couple’s vision. Final touches included securing delicate blooms on the cake and handing over the bridal bouquet, a moment that always marks the real beginning of the day’s celebrations.

By the time guests arrived, every floral element was in place, seamlessly blending into the atmosphere of love and celebration. Then, as quietly as we arrived, we stepped back—leaving behind a setting that felt effortless, but was built on hours of careful planning and execution.

Dancing the Night Away - Music and Entertainment

As the sun began to set, the atmosphere transformed into one of celebration and joy, ready for the evening's festivities. Music plays a pivotal role in any wedding, setting the tone for the celebration and encouraging guests to let loose on the dance floor. Jamie and Ellie curated a playlist that intertwined classic romantic songs with upbeat tracks, ensuring there was something for everyone.

They opted for a live band that could bring energy to the night while also performing their favorite songs. The band members, dressed in elegant black attire, created an inviting ambiance as they played soft melodies during dinner, allowing guests to converse and savor their meals. As the night progressed, the music transitioned to lively tunes that beckoned everyone to dance the night away.

The couple also incorporated special moments into their entertainment, such as a choreographed first dance that left guests in awe. Jamie and Ellie spent weeks preparing for this moment, and it paid off as they glided across the dance floor, embodying the love and excitement that surrounded them. Their joy was infectious, inspiring friends and family to join in on the fun, creating a night filled with laughter, dancing, and cherished memories.
